Cablevision Systems Corporation was founded in 1973 and incorporated in Delaware in 1997. On November 10, 2009, CSC Holdings Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cablevision, converted from a Delaware corporation organized in 1985 to a Delaware limited liability company and was renamed CSC Holdings LLC. CSC Holdings is a U.S. cable provider that also operates cable programming networks, entertainment businesses, telecommunications companies and a newspaper publishing business. The company operates in four business segments: telecommunications services, Rainbow, Madison Square Garden and Newsday. The telecommunications services segment includes the company's cable business, including its video, high-speed data, and Voice over Internet Protocol. The Rainbow segment consists principally of the company's interests in television programming networks, including AMC, WE tv, IFC, Sundance Channel and News 12. This segment also includes a local advertising sales representation business. The Madison Square Garden segment owns and operates the Madison Square Garden Arena and the adjoining WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden, a number of professional sports teams, the regional sports programming networks Madison Square Garden Network and MSG Plus, MSG Entertainment and the operations of Fuse, a national music programming network.
