Founded by Moses Phillips and George Henry Bass in 1881, Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. incorporated in Delaware and went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 1976. Phillips-Van Heusen is a US dress shirt maker that sells clothes, sunglasses, and shoes for men, women, and children under brands such as Van Heusen, Bass, Calvin Klein, and IZOD, as well as licensed names DKNY, Michael Kors Collection, Geoffrey Beene, Kenneth Cole, John Henry, and private labels. It distributes its products to department store locations, including customers Macy's, Kohl's, JCPenney, Stage Stores, Wal-Mart, and other wholesale clients. The company owns private-label dress shirts and manufactures lines of shirts and footwear products to major retailers, chain stores, and catalog merchants, and retailing them through its own stores, generally located in factory-outlet malls. Headquartered in New York, New York, the company currently operates a network of approximately 750 retail stores primarily located in outlet malls throughout the United States and distribution centers located in Arkansas, California, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Tennessee and abroad we operate in Ireland, Thailand, Mexico, New Zealand, Japan, Europe, Canada, China and Italy. Other subsidiaries maintained by the company include Bass Net, Inc.; Phillips-Van Heusen Retail Corp. and the IZOD Gant Corporation.
