Company description

Dole Food Company Inc. was founded in Hawaii in 1851 and incorporated in Hawaii in 1894. The Dole brand was introduced in 1933. In July 2001, the company reincorporated as a Delaware corporation and it began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in October of 2009. The company provides wholesale, retail and institutional customers with food products that bear the DOLE trademarks. Dole Food Company is the world's largest producer and marketer of fresh fruits and vegetables, packaged and frozen fruits and is one of the largest producers of fresh-cut flowers in Latin America. The company is also a leader in nutrition education and research. The company has four business segments: fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and packaged foods. Dole Food Company, which is headquartered in Westlake Village, California, sells more than 200 products in more than 90 countries and maintains operations in Cameroon, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Ivory Coast, the Philippines, South Africa, Spain, Thailand and the United States.
