I CHALLENGE THE JULY GOVERNMENT Matters by Dr. Paul Freedenberg, VP/Government Relations, AMT--The Association For Manufacturing Technology ("Selling to China" p. 36). His viewpoint is consistent with the quick-buck thinking of big business and those with only selfish short-term interests. The suggestions offer a Band-Aid for a country bleeding to death.

The Chinese economy has increased 8% this year, while our economy has dropped. Of course Chinese manufacturers will consume more machines, since they are using these machines together with low-wage labor to knock American workers out of jobs. I would bet this growth in machine purchasing lasts long enough for them to duplicate our equipment and start selling it on the world market. …
