Fluid-handling products at Westec. (Western Metal and Tool Exposition and Conference)

Fluid-handling products at Westec Westec '91 featured a number of companies displaying various waste minimization type products designed to decrease the costs of waste removal, reduce machine coolant refueling downtime, and improve plant output streams.

Master Chemical Corp (Perrysburg, Ohio) demonstrated its "Yellow Bellied Sump Sucker" (YBSS--a single compartment air-powered unit) cleaning the sump of an Okuma machine. The unit separated dirty and clean fluid into individual compartments, sending the clean fluid directly back to the machine while the dirty fluid was sent to the company's new Xybex 750 coolant-recycler system. The 750 model, utilizing a high speed disc-bowl liquid-from-liquid centrifuge, further separated clean from dirty coolant, sending the remaining clean fluid back to the YBSS which in turn fed the Okuma. …
