Monthly tool consumption slightly drops. (Business Trends).

U.S. MACHINE TOOL CONSUMPTION FOR APRIL totaled $169.57 million according to AMT--The Association For Manufacturing Technology and the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA). This is a 2.1% decrease from March and a 1.3% drop from the $171.83 million reported for April 2002. 2003 is down 16.7% compared to the same period in 2002 with a year-to-date total of $584.66 million.
