Tool consumption falls behind 2002. (Business Trends).

AMT--THE ASSOCIATION FOR MANUFACTURING Technology and the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA) report U.S. machine tool consumption for February decreased 20% from the February 2002 total of $167.21 million and increased 1.5% from January. February 2003 machine tool consumption totaled $133.78 million.

Ralph J. Nappi, AMTDA President, says "The recent developments in Iraq should begin to clear up the uncertainty that has existed for months. U.S. manufacturers can now set their sights on the future and focus on productivity and process improvements to be more competitive in the world marketplace. …
