Richard A. Handren, 64 Was Raytheon engineer

Richard A. Handren of Taunton, a manufacturing engineer, died Friday in his home. He was 64.

Mr. Handren was a lifelong resident of Taunton and a 1951 graduate of Taunton High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Bridgewater State College in 1992 and also attended Boston University.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War era. He was a 20-year employee of Raytheon Corp., where he worked as a manufacturing engineer until his retirement in 1996. He previously worked for Cleveland Twist Drill Co. in Mansfield. Mr. Handren was a longtime volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America as a master of Cub Pack 6 from 1977 to 1979 and a scoutmaster of Troop 40 from 1970 to 1990. …
