September Plea Deal Fell Apart

A man called "Robin the Hood" by the FBI, facing trial for an alleged string of bank robberies, has been charged with 10 more.

Byron Shane Chubbuck was about to plead late last month to charges in a 10-count 1999 federal indictment, but a plea deal fell through, court records show. That indictment includes charges for four bank robberies, being a convicted felon with a gun, assaulting federal law enforcement officials and attempted escape.

This week, a federal grand jury returned another indictment charging Chubbuck with 10 more bank robberies.

According to the indictments, Chubbuck allegedly robbed banks mostly in the Northeast Heights. …
