Roswell, Farmington Both Earn Victories

Sadeke Konte was the homecoming king for Eldorado, but quarterback David Kiefer was the man as the Eagles defeated Del Norte 28-6 in a high school football game Friday night at Wilson Stadium.

The Knights (2-3) held the Eagles (6-0) scoreless for three possessions, just long enough for Del Norte's Robert Eberhart to put the first touchdown on the board with a spinning and wheeling 51-yard run with 2:06 left in the first quarter. The extra point was blocked by the defense.

Konte and his offensive line would strike the first blow for Eldorado, picking the Knights' defense apart on a 44-yard drive in which Konte rushed on every down. He finished the drive with a 17-yard touchdown run with 7:36 left in the first half.

Del Norte had no answer against Eldorado's defensive pressure, and David Kiefer would make the Knights pay with a 13-yard connection to Grant Olsen that put the Eagles up 14-6 with 46 seconds left in the half. …
