Four Years From Idea to Real Arena.

Not everyone thought it was a good idea back then."What?" opponents said. "Waste good Corrales land on a place for riding horses? You can ride any place you like!"

The discussion was heartfelt and sometimes volatile, with others pointing out that it wasn't that easy; that land was being closed off.

But there it is, four years and many residents' meetings and volunteer hours later; the 3.2-acre Top Form Livestock Arena which opened for use early this month.

Tucked into the northwest corner of the 16-acre Corrales Community Recreation Center off Corrales Road near the new village post office, the arena is not a sign of anyone winning or losing the old argument. …
