The first thing I noticed at Santa Ana Pueblo's Star Casino outside of Bernalillo is the music. This parking lot is wired for tunes. You know the first law of marketing: You only get one chance to make a first impression. Score one for Santa Ana.

You step inside the Star and there's the "ching-ching-ching" sound of slots opening their bomb-bays and dropping metal discs into metal hoppers. …
