Arts and Crafts Festival brings fiesta down to earth.

It's that time of year again no, not just for the Balloon Fiesta, but for that big white tent at the corner of Interstate 25 and Jefferson NE.

Every October for the last 11 years, the five-story tent has housed the Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival, featuring arts and crafts from 250 artists from around the country.

The festival always takes place during both weekends of the Balloon Fiesta, luring visitors in between ascensions.

Besides the generous offering of arts and crafts for sale, this year's festival features artist demonstrations and food choices from tacos and gyros to frybread.

Live entertainment will take place throughout the day with the Watermelon Jug Band and various mariachi, classical guitar and boogie-woogie piano performers. …
