There's nothing newfangled about the annual Harvest Festival at Los Poblanos Farms on Saturday. Quite the contrary: The festival is a tribute to a traditional farming way of life.

Hayrides, pony rides, a farmers market and continuous entertainment on a hay-bale stage are among the old-fashioned agricultural activities on the agenda at the annual event sponsored by the Rio Grande Community Farms, La Montanita Co-op Natural Foods Market, and the city of Albuquerque Open Space Division.

The Harvest Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Los Poblanos Farms (formerly Anderson Fields), off Montano one mile west of Fourth Street. …
