* 50 years later, marriage vows mean more as Cedar Crest couple renews them at Pearl Harbor chapel

Wedding vows have more meaning after 50 years of marriage.

At least that is what East Mountains residents Fredo and Lauretha (Lou) McFall say. And the McFalls know from experience.

The East Mountains couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 8 by renewing their vows. And they did it the same way as the first time in 1950 in the same Pearl Harbor Submarine Memorial Chapel in Hawaii, with the same best man at their side on the very same day.

"It was a very emotional, sentimental thing," Lauretha McFall said in a recent interview at the McFalls' Cedar Crest home. …
