Students Still Worry About Center's Future

Rio Rancho is in no danger of losing its branch of Highlands University, the president of the Board of Regents said Tuesday.

Albuquerque attorney Joe Romero said last month's suggestion by Regent John Loehr that the Rio Rancho center be closed did not reflect the position of the board.

"It was that individual regent's opinion and he was in the minority," Romero said Tuesday.

Rio Rancho students interviewed Tuesday, however, said they were concerned about the future of their program because the university has failed to address Loehr's comments. …
