Book surveys 2,500 years of artistic interpretations of gambling

This book may be about gambling, but don't mistake it for a Richard Harvey how-to-win-at-blackjack book or someone else's method for beating the house.

The "art" in the title could easily be misunderstood.

But once you see the front dust jacket you will immediately understand that the book refers to a different definition of the three-letter word.

This is a large-format survey about how artists, famous and otherwise, have interpreted gambling.

It covers 2,500 years of painting on the subject. Were it not for the overload of 12 pages of LeRoy Neiman paintings scattered throughout, this would be an evenhanded survey. …
