Duke City Voters Full of Pre-Debate Questions.(New Mexico & The West)

A few days before the first round of presidential debates between George W. Bush and Al Gore in Boston on Tuesday, curious voters in Albuquerque had their own questions for the candidates, some of which might require more than the allotted TV response time.

Mark F. Horowitz, 42, a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, said he is a registered Democrat but "votes for the best man." He wanted to know where each candidate stood on human services.

"Are you going to improve on education? Are you going to offer better medical care for senior citizens?" he asked.

"I know a lot of people on my route who have to go to Mexico to get their prescriptions filled because they're a lot cheaper there," Horowitz said. …
