Bureau Proposes To Keep Things Quiet.(New Mexico & The West)

FARMINGTON Local U.S. Bureau of Land Management officials have released proposals to limit industrial development in the San Juan River basin in an effort to halt noise pollution in environmentally sensitive areas.

Among the 60 areas affected in northwestern New Mexico are 44,000 acres in the Bisti-De-Na-Zin Wilderness area, about 12,000 acres adjacent to Navajo Lake, 10,240 acres surrounding the Angel Peak National Recreation Site and about 2,700 acres in the Fossil Forest Research Natural Area. …
