10-Year Tenure Left School Ranked High

Anthropology professor Everett L. Frost was first attracted to New Mexico by its rich cultural tapestry 30 years ago, and he stayed long enough to become president of Eastern New Mexico University in 1991.

Wednesday, he announced his retirement comfortable, he said, in the knowledge that the school's anthropology department and the school itself are ranked among the best of their type in the country.

"Eastern is now poised on the brink of a new era, better prepared than ever to serve New Mexico and the nation as a trendsetter in effective, student-centered higher education," Frost said in a news release. …
