Goddard Too Much for Pintos.(Sports)

Goddard High and its slippery option quarterback, Sam Jernigan, overwhelmed Moriarty 40-3 on Friday night in Roswell in a District 4AAAA football finale for both schools.

Moriarty finished the season at 0-3 in district play and 4-6 overall.

Goddard's option ground attack was virtually unstoppable, piling up 362 yards and six rushing touchdowns.

The Pintos' ground game, on the other hand, was stopped cold by an aggressive Goddard defense. Moriarty ran the ball 16 times for only 12 yards.

Moriarty's four-year starter at quarterback, Shane Wallin, put in a good effort in his final prep outing. Wallin completed 10 passes for 137 yards. …
