Verbal Commitments Didn't Stick With UNM Last Season

With his two prized recruits apparently locked and loaded, University of New Mexico men's basketball coach Fran Fraschilla is confident the situation won't backfire again this year.

The one-week fall recruiting signing period begins today, and the Lobos are counting on signatures from a pair of California high school seniors.

Chad Bell, a 7-foot center from Westchester High, and Jamaal Williams, a 6-6 forward from Corona Centennial High, have given verbal commitments to the Lobos. For the commitments to become official, they as well as their parents have to sign letters and send them to the university. …
