Democrats To Control Commission.

Santa Fe's County Commission remained solidly Democratic after Tuesday's election, but not without a Green Party scare for incumbent commissioner Paul Duran.

"I was worried," said Duran shortly after hearing that challenger Melissa McDonald conceded defeat. "I was. I really was."

With 15 of 17 precincts reporting, Duran was leading McDonald.

The other contested commission race went to Democrat Jack Sullivan in District 5. Sullivan, of Santa Fe, fended off Republican Roger X. Lenard of Edgewood and Green Xubi Wilson of Eldorado.

With 20 of 22 precincts, Sullivan was ahead of Lenard and Wilson. …
