Eight seconds. In bull riding, eight seconds are an eternity. At the recent high school state soccer tournament, however, eight seconds were a mere blink of an eye not eight seconds of game time, mind you. These were eight seconds of frustration encountered while leaving the tournament.

On the road heading out of the New Mexico Tournament Soccer Complex at Santa Ana Pueblo, eight seconds is exactly what commuters got for a green light where N.M. 44 intersects with N.M. 528.

To the thousands of fans who encountered the numerous traffic hassles that were the 2000 State Soccer Tournament namely parking, waiting and parking perhaps one of the most frustrating was the one faced while trying to leave. …
