Take a jacket before you head out to vote today.

The forecast for Election Day calls for up to 3 inches of snow starting early this morning and continuing through midday, mostly on the eastern slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. East to southeast winds will gust from 10 to 20 mph.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. In what is being called the closest presidential election in 40 years, voter turnout may be affected by the weather. An upper-level storm system over the Southwest coupled with cold air will create favorable conditions for snow today. …
