Los Alamos Slams Taos, Wins State Playoff Spot.

LOS ALAMOS In a game that was do or die for both teams, the Taos High School football team killed itself with sloppy play throughout the decisive first quarter of Saturday's crucial District 2AAAA football game.

Committing four turnovers on each of their first four possessions, the Tigers (2-8, 2-2) paved the way for the Los Alamos Hilltoppers (7-4, 3-1) to run all over them to the tune of 40-6 on a cold and wet afternoon.

The Hilltoppers responded with four touchdowns on their first 11 plays from scrimmage to build a commanding 26-0 lead with three minutes remaining in the first quarter.

The win clinches the runner-up spot in 2AAAA for Los Alamos and secures it a berth in the state playoffs. …
