Q : I've gone ahead and brought in some of my geraniums before they were killed by the frost. How can I be sure I haven't imported any, what you call "pesties," indoors with them? And is their care going to be a lot different?

A: First, I'd recommend a thorough visual inspection. Look at the plant closely for any and all critters. The simplest way to remove them is to pinch or prune the plant. That will effectively remove most any bugs that could be on the plant.

It's a good idea to prune the plant back anyway. That will make its transition to the indoors easier. It won't have to work as hard while it's getting used to its new environment. …
