Here's a nightmare for those in charge of promoting New Mexico:

On election night, the presidential race seesaws back and forth nationally, the electoral college vote total hovers near a tie. Bernalillo County election workers bog down in tens of thousands of absentee ballots, delaying determination of a winner in the close race. The world waits as Bernalillo County labors to tally up who captured the pivotal five electoral votes from the Land of Enchantment.

Not likely? Remember 1998, when County Clerk Judy Woodward sent exhausted poll workers home shortly after midnight, with some 5,000 absentee ballots still not counted? Or 1996, when a black box containing several hundred uncounted absentee ballots was found two days after the election? …
