Pintos Succumb To Artesia 48-7.(Sports)

The Moriarty High football team learned first-hand Friday why Artesia quarterback Bryan Henderson is leading the state with more than 2,500 passing yards.

Henderson's pinpoint passing shredded Moriarty's defense as visiting Artesia clobbered Moriarty 48-7 in a District 4AAAA contest. The loss eliminated the Pintos from postseason playoff consideration.

Moriarty (0-2, 4-5) concludes its season Friday night when it visits Goddard in Roswell for a 7:30 game.

"Artesia is an excellent passing team," said Moriarty head coach Mike Draper. "I've never seen a high school quarterback throw so accurately, so frequently. And I've had some good throwers in my coaching career. …
