The interim governing council of the East Mountain High School passed the torch to a new governing body at its regular meeting Monday.
The charter high school in Sandia Park opened in August under the direction of the seven-member interim council. But on Monday they handed the decision-making over to another highly educated and diverse group.
"About 12 applicants applied for the positions and we really got a lot of superb applicants," said interim council member Ron Greenwell, who was on the committee that selected the new members.
An attorney, a former principal, a retired Navy commander, a consultant and a financial controller are the newest members of the council. …
