'Experience' introduces latest trend: tequila tasting.(Dining)

OK, so you've mastered the vineyards of France and the microwbrews of America, what else is there in the world of spirits to learn about?

Now it's tequila, or more specifically, premium-grade tequila, sometimes called "sipping tequila."

According to Mike Morales, co-organizer of the "First Annual New Mexico International Tequila Experience," which takes place Nov. 17, tequila tasting is the next big wave sweeping the United States.

"I've spent a year just learning about tequila. There's more to it than Jose Cuervo. It's very much like winemaking," Morales explained.

The "Tequila Experience" will feature an organized tasting of about 35 premium tequilas, a special menu of tequila-friendly foods, and presentations by two leading tequila heads. …
