Good Tea Becomes A Pleasant Memory.

* Taking tea at the Hotel St. Francis stimulates good conversation

In these last, beautiful days of autumn, as John Nichols so aptly calls them, any chance to dine or drink al fresco should be grabbed.

A case in point is tea at the Hotel St. Francis on the corner of Water and Don Gaspar. A late afternoon under their long front portal is pleasant indeed, and made more so by adding a pot of tea, a few sandwiches and scones, and a serious sweet to finish.

Tea is served in the lobby and on the portal seven days a week 3-5:30 p.m. We got there just under the wire, at 5:25 p.m. according to our watches.

Our server, Cyndi Marie, could have argued the point, but she most graciously did not. …
