Four Bond Issues Await Santa Fe County Voters.

Santa Fe County voters will decide in Tuesday's election whether to fund four proposed bond issues that would pay for county government services and facilities, fire protection and expansion of the county's program to purchase land to preserve as open space.

The 20-year general obligation bonds, if all approved, would increase property taxes about $1.40 for every $1,000 of a property's taxable value. The taxes would amount to about $71 a year on a $150,000 house.

"The commission spent a lot of time and gave a lot of consideration to what items they wanted people to vote on," County Manager Sam Montoya said. "I hope voters also give fair consideration for them. …
