* Santa Fe held on for a 23-20 victory over cross-town rival Capital

Senior running back Mike Padilla rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown to lead the Santa Fe High School football team to its first win of the season, 23-20, over cross-town rival Capital on Friday night.

With a near-capacity crowd on hand at Jaguar Stadium, the game also marked the return of Santa Fe head coach Bill Moon and his top assistant, Kevin Hauck, to the school they worked at for more than a decade. Until last season, one or the other had coached the Jaguar football program every year since the school opened its doors in 1988. Hauck was head coach last season. …
