EPA Chief Stumps for N.M. Democrats.(New Mexico)

Rio Grande issues were on the front burner Friday when the head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency spent a day stumping for Democratic Party candidates in New Mexico.

Agency administrator Carol Browner joined former U.S. Attorney John Kelly, who is challenging Republican incumbent Heather Wilson in the state's 1st Congressional District, for a news conference and rally along the banks of the river in Bernalillo County.

Kelly released a four-point plan to restore the Rio Grande. And Browner encouraged people to vote for Al Gore for president and to support Kelly and other Democrats.
