Not close to last or almost last, but totally and indisputably dead last.

As the New Mexico State football team (0-3) plays Texas-El Paso (2-2) tonight in the Sun Bowl, the Aggies will sport the worst scoring offense in NCAA Division I-A.

Of 114 schools that play I-A, NMSU is No. 114.

While that makes it easy to improve, it doesn't make Ags coach Tony Samuel happy. His club was 6-5 last season and beat a ranked team in the process, with his offense being the key.

This season, NMSU has scored 13 points in three games. …
