After posting a less-than-spectacular 8-3 record last week, I now stand at 53-21 for the season. Then again, two of the misses were somewhat acceptable who could have known Las Vegas Robertson would have stumbled at Moriarty or that Capital would win for the first time in nearly two years?

Ah, well, on to this week's gridiron showdowns where a full plate of northern New Mexico teams hit the field.

Today's Matchups

SANTA FE (0-5) at CAPITAL (1-4), 7 p.m.: It should be an emotional scene at Jaguar Stadium when former Capital head coaches Bill Moon and Kevin Hauck make their return wearing the blue and gold of Santa Fe High Moon as head coach and Hauck as an assistant. Given the heated rivalry between these schools, you can toss out the records when this game kicks off which is good because both teams have been awful. Having scored just 26 points in five games, the Demons' offense needs to wake up. …
