Santa Fe High Coaches Have Capital Roots.

When Bill Moon and Kevin Hauck lead the Santa Fe High School football team onto the field at Jaguar Stadium tonight, they'll do so with an unusual emotional attachment to the host school.

With both coaches having seen plenty of time on the Jaguars' sideline, tonight's 13th annual meeting between the schools marks a homecoming of sorts for both.

Moon, 50, served as Capital High School's head coach for nine seasons from 1988-96, leading the Jaguars to a 54-41 record and the state playoffs four times as members of Class AAA and AAAA. Moon was the only head coach the school had known in it's history until he decided to step down and take over the same duties at Rio Rancho High School after the 1996 season. …
