State Employee Pleads Guilty

A state employee, known to Santa Fe police as the "Stun Gun Rapist" for shocking his victims to disable them, pleaded guilty on Thursday to raping one woman jogger and attacking another.

Mark Piatt, 31, pleaded guilty to criminal sexual penetration, kidnapping and aggravated battery with a stun gun for attacking a woman while she jogged on the city's south side in August 1999.

Under a plea agreement with the 1st Judicial District Attorney's Office, Piatt also pleaded guilty to a second count of aggravated battery with a stun gun for shocking another woman jogger in the same area in July 1994. …
