Iacenda, Hanson Just Hope To Get More Playing Time

The University of New Mexico football team is borrowing from the New York Giants in trying to spark its offense heading into Mountain West Conference play Saturday against Wyoming.

The Lobos have added Thunder and Lightning to their package.

Thunder, in the form of fullback Ted Iacenda, and Lightning, tailback Javier Hanson, both played key roles in UNM's 35-28 victory over Northern Arizona. The duo combined for 94 rushing yards, 28 receiving yards and one touchdown as UNM rolled up a season-high 348 yards against NAU.

"I think they gave a little umph to the offense," coach Rocky Long said. "I think Ted showed some ability to run between the tackles, Javier gives us a little more speed and quickness. …
