Father Found Items In Teen-Ager's Room

The Albuquerque Police Department's bomb squad removed explosive devices from a home in Rio Rancho on Wednesday after they were found by the father of a 16-year-old, police said.

Officers from the Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety and APD's bomb squad were dispatched to the 1600 block of Borealis Avenue shortly after the father called police around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rio Rancho DPS spokesman Sgt. John Francis said.

The father found the devices in the boy's room, Francis said. The items were taken out of the home by APD's bomb squad and will be photographed as evidence and destroyed, he said. …
