Group Sought To Build Retiree Park

The Bernalillo Town Council this week upheld a planning and zoning commission recommendation to deny a special-use zone-change request for a 56-unit mobile home park near Interstate 25.

"We are offering something beneficial to the community," said Philip Pickard, one of the partners in the land development company of HHP LLC. "The neighbors don't have a problem with the mobile home development. It is the condition of the South Hill Road area and the city's lack of action."

The site for the park is just west of I-25 and south of U.S. 550, formerly N.M. 44.
