* Moriarty's homecoming win a race between penalty yards and offensive yards

The homecoming queen was pretty, but the game was beyond ugly.

In Moriarty High's annual homecoming football clash, the Pintos somehow pulled out a 13-3 victory over visiting Robertson of Las Vegas in front of an overflow crowd Friday night.

The fact that the Pintos (3-2) won at all is a minor miracle.

There were nearly as many penalty yards as offensive yards as the officials tossed yellow flags 24 times. The Elephant Man was easier on the eyes than Moriarty's atrocious offense, which managed a meager 43 total yards for the entire game.

If Moriarty's offense were a fish at the end of a line, it would've been thrown back. Pole and all.

The Pintos, who lost big-play tailback J.J. Ortiz when he was ejected from the game early in the second quarter, averaged a paltry 1. …
