* Moriarty committee will give its suggestions about guards tonight

A facilities-use committee is expected to make recommendations to the Moriarty Municipal Schools Board of Education at its regular meeting tonight.

The ad-hoc committee was formed in August to assess a new facilities-use policy the board instituted this school year a policy that irritated many community members. The policy increased user fees and also required anyone wanting to use school buildings or fields to hire security guards during the time the facilities were used.

Many organizations, including soccer leagues and church groups, complained that the financial burden of hiring security guards was too great. …
