$14.5 Million Bond Issue Goes to a Vote in February.

Voters will get the chance Feb. 6 vote on a proposed $14.5 million bond issue to fund new classrooms, athletic improvements, the Career Academy and other school projects throughout the district.

The Los Lunas school board approved the bond election list on Tuesday. It also adopted the district's new five-year master plan that identifies many of the projects.

"This bond initiative will not raise taxes, but will address many issues that student growth has contributed to over the last eight years," Superintendent Danny Burnett said. "Virtually every school in the district will receive part of the benefits from this important endeavor. …
