Bryan Mitchell's FFA students at Estancia High each year round up animals for this popular State Fair exhibit

The Red Barn has been one of the top attractions at the New Mexico State Fair for more than two generations.

Space at the popular exhibit is often standing-room only as parents file their offspring past the offspring of many common farm animals. Tiny fingers poke through the fencing to get a baby goat or pig to notice.

Seven pens line each side of the red barn, which is actually more of a covering than a barn. Each pen is home to a different type of animal, often hidden in the straw. There are goats and ducks. …
