O'Keeffe Painting Donated to Museum.

A northern New Mexico woman has given The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum the oil-on-canvas Flag Pole and White House.

The O'Keeffe painting will be on display at the museum beginning in mid-November.

Emily Fisher Landau, an art collector and philanthropist from Galisteo, bought Flag Pole and White House directly from O'Keeffe in 1985.

O'Keeffe finished the painting in New Mexico in 1959. The subject of the work is the small building in upstate New York that her husband, photographer Alfred Stieglitz, used as a studio.

O'Keeffe made several studies in the 1920s of what she and Stieglitz fondly referred to as the "little house," one of which is the oil painting Flagpole, which also is among the museum's holdings. …
