Knicks Get Longley But Lose Ewing.(Sports)

Luc Longley is moving to New York.

Former University of New Mexico center Longley and Patrick Ewing were part of a 12-player, four-team trade Wednesday.

Ewing's 15-year career with the Knicks ended as New York sent him to the Seattle SuperSonics in a deal also involving the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns.

The Knicks got Glen Rice from the Lakers and Longley from the Suns. Among the other major players moving were Horace Grant from Seattle to Los Angeles and Chris Dudley from New York to Phoenix.

New York will be Longley's fourth home in the NBA after playing for Minnesota, Chicago and Arizona.

Various trades involving Ewing and Rice have been in the works for the past month, including one involving the Detroit Pistons that fell apart at the last moment in mid-August. …
