Manzano High School's Jacob Hunter isn't easily satisfied.

The senior running back's reaction to the Monarchs' 28-14 victory Saturday over Cibola at Wilson Stadium served as testament to his perfectionism.

Hunter personally steamrolled the Cougars, rushing 37 times for a whopping 310 yards. He also scored all four of his team's touchdowns.

But after the game, Hunter stood near midfield shaking his head and quietly removing his gloves.

"I should have had five (touchdowns)," he said, referring to a controversial fourth-quarter run that initially was ruled a Manzano touchdown, then changed to a Cibola fumble recovery. "I really wanted that one, and I thought I got in the end zone."

But if Hunter wasn't satisfied with his performance, Monarchs coach Mike Nesbitt had no complaints.

"He's such a workhorse," Nesbitt said of Hunter, who also played much of the game at defensive back. "He's the kind of kid who'd like to carry the ball every play. …
