'Railroad Paintings' so evocative you can almost hear the whistle blow

Step back for a moment from our pervasive car culture and think of trains. What I have in mind are trains in books, three in particular. First off, there's a book with 60 Ted Rose watercolors, nearly all of them with locomotive subjects. The retail price is $49.95, plus tax.

Of course you can buy an original Ted Rose watercolor of a locomotive and pay thousands.

Or you can buy U.S. postage stamps with Ted Rose paintings of a quintet of 1930s locomotives. They will set you back 33 cents for each stamp.
